At this time of year it’s normal to feel a little blue. The drop in temperature, grey skies and health issues that are common in winter, can easily bring us down.

One of my favourite activities at this time of year is to have a bonfire with friends; the connection to warmth and fire and transformation that it brings is a wonderful mid-winter assistant. Fire is purging and cleansing and warming and enlivening.
This time of year is a good time to reflect on the importance of sharing fellowship and community, finding a balance between quiet ‘in-breath’ activities, such as meditation, healing, journalling and nature time, with ‘out-breath’ activities like socialising and fellowship.
